Bhutan is Landlocked between China and India. Area: 38,394 square kilometers . Altitude: 100 meters above sea level in the south to over 7,500 meters above the sea level in the north.Bhutan has a rich culture that has remained intact because of its self-imposed isolation from the rest of the world until five decades ago. Dzongkha, meaning the language of the fort, is the national language of Bhutan. Small though it is, Bhutan has a rich variety of culture.Bhutan has four seasons and the climate varies depending on the altitude. March to May is spring when the weather is pleasant and the flowering trees blossom
Today we will meet our guide at airport transfer to Thimpu. The drive from Paro to Thimphu is spectacularly scenic. Magnificent monasteries and stupas in the valleys and mountain tops are main attraction. Overnight Thimphu.
Today we will visit Artsandcraftsschool.Visit Traditional Medicine Institute where the ancient healing artsare still practiced. Visit Memorial Chorten,observe traditional paper making from Daphnia and Edgeworthia shrub,visit botanical garden (Zoo) where one can see Takin, the National wild animal of Bhutan. Drive up to view point Later afternoon, transfer to Paro for Overnight.
Today is the third day of our travel today we can see the former capital of Bhutan on the way to Punakha, we will stop at Dochula Pass. Sitting at the fork of two rivers, Punakha Dzong is considered one of the most beautiful spots in Bhutan. With spectacular displays of Bhutanese architecture, it stands like a medieval city surrounded by lavender Jacaranda trees. Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten is a one-of-a-kind example of Bhutanese art and architecture, built by the third Queen Mother, Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck. This beautifully designed chorten took nine years to build, using only religious scriptures to construct the four-story temple.
Bumthang Valley is known as the heartland of Buddhism in Bhutan. In 746 AD, it is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here to exorcise a demon from the king and then converted the people to Buddhism, restoring peace to the region. Guru Rinpoche stayed in the valley to build more than 40 temples. In the morning, we hike to Tamzhing Goemba. Built in 1501, it is an important monastery because of its direct connection to the Buddhist saint, Pema Lingpa. We will then visit the sacred monastery Kurjey Lhakhang, which houses a rock that shows Guru Rinpoche’s body imprint after he subdued the powerful Shelging Karpo demon. Today we will stay overnight at Bumthang.
Today is the fifth day of your journey to Bhutan today we will travel to Bumthang Valley which is also known as the heartland of Buddhism in Bhutan.In the morning, we hike to Tamzhing Goemba.We will visit the sacred monastery Kurjey Lhakhang, which houses a rock that shows Guru Rinpoche’s body imprint after he subdued the powerful Shelging Karpo demon. According to legend, a giant demoness was preventing the spread of Buddhism by laying her body across Tibet and Bhutan. Jambay Lhakhang is one of the two temples built in Bhutan that day, and every October it hosts a colorful festival to celebrate. We will go for the hike to the Thangbi Lhakhang. Situated in the picturesque Thangbi Valley, it is only accessible by foot and across a suspension bridge.
We will pass through Trongsa on the way to Gangtey.Traditionally, each king of Bhutan has held the position of Trongsa Penlop (governor) before wearing the Raven Crown. Today we will stay ovrnight at Gangtey.
Today we travel to Phobjikha (Gangtey) Valley. Known as the winter home of the black-necked cranes (Grus nigricollis), you can see 600 of these elegant, shy birds that migrate here from Tibet between November and March.Gangtey Goemba is a 17th-century monastery that sits on a hill, overlooking the entire valley. While visiting Gantey Valley, you can stay in the hotel or room with a local family in a modest farmhouse.
Today we will head to Paro Valley from Gangtey. The valley is home to Chomolhari (Jomolhari) Mountain, located on the northwestern border of Bhutan and Tibet. Often called the wife of Kanchenjunga, the world’s third highest mountain, Chomolhari is Bhutan’s third tallest mountain at 24,035 feet.Paro (Rinpung) Dzong means Fortress on Jewels because it was built using stones rather than clay. We will explore the each place of Gangtey to which will help to make your travel full of fun.Hence,today we will stay overnight at Paro.
We will hike today for certain hours,today we will hike to Taktsang Monastery, then we will take a short drive away is the ruins of Drukgyal Dzong.We end our tour with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Bhutan. and stay overnight at Paro.
Today we will get back to our home town with lots of experience and memories.
