Rara Lake is the biggest and deepest fresh water lake in the Nepal Himalayas. It is the main feature of Rara National Park, located in Jumla and Mugu Districts. In September 2007, it was declared a Ramsar site.Being surrounded by Rara National Park, Rara Lake has many unique floral and faunal importance with the hosting of rare and vulnerable species.The Rara Lake is surrounded by hills and mountains.The Rara Lake is surrounded by hills and mountains. The “Chuchemara” is the best point to see the stunning view of oval shape turquoise blue lake with green forest and snow peak just above it. The area is pristine as no civilization lives there, except the army camps nearby. However visitors can enjoy tea houses and boatmans while surfing around the lake side.
